Corrections Policy
Dave Finances is committed to accuracy, transparency, and accountability in its financial journalism.
Financial markets move quickly, information can change after publication, and errors can occasionally occur. When a material factual error is identified, we aim to correct it promptly and clearly.
How We Handle Corrections
When Dave Finances confirms that an article contains a material factual error, the article will be updated as soon as reasonably possible.
Depending on the nature of the error, we may add a correction note explaining what was incorrect and how the article was changed.
Material errors may include incorrect figures, dates, company names, regulatory information, quotations, descriptions of events, or other factual claims that could materially affect a reader’s understanding of the story.
Minor Changes
Minor edits that do not change the substance or meaning of an article may be made without a formal correction notice.
These may include spelling, grammar, punctuation, formatting, broken links, typographical errors, or stylistic improvements.
Updates to Developing Stories
Some articles cover developing events, including regulatory actions, company announcements, market incidents, legal proceedings, outages, investigations, and rapidly changing market conditions.
When significant new information becomes available after publication, an article may be updated.
Where appropriate, Dave Finances may include an update note indicating what new information was added and when the article was updated.
An update does not necessarily mean that the original article contained an error.
Correction Notes
When a correction is material, we aim to make the change transparent.
A correction note may appear within or at the end of the article and may follow a format such as:
Correction — September 10, 2026: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated [incorrect information]. The article has been updated to reflect [correct information].
The wording and level of detail may vary depending on the nature of the correction.
Headline Corrections
If a headline contains a material factual error, Dave Finances may update the headline as well as the article.
Where the original headline could have materially misled readers, we may disclose the correction within the article.
Minor headline edits for clarity, grammar, style, or search optimization may be made without a formal correction note when they do not materially change the meaning.
Quotes and Statements
If a quotation is found to be inaccurate, incomplete in a materially misleading way, or incorrectly attributed, we aim to correct it promptly.
Requests to change an accurate quotation solely because a source later prefers different wording will generally be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Market Data and Prices
Prices, market capitalization, trading volumes, yields, exchange rates, and other financial data may change rapidly after publication.
A change in market price after an article is published is not considered an error if the figure was accurate for the stated time or reporting period.
If the original figure itself was incorrect, we will correct it where material.
Requests From Companies and Individuals
Companies, organizations, and individuals mentioned in Dave Finances coverage may contact us if they believe an article contains a factual error.
A request for correction does not automatically result in a change.
We review correction requests against available evidence, including primary documents, company disclosures, regulatory records, market data, correspondence, recordings, and other relevant sources.
We do not remove accurate reporting simply because it is unfavorable to a company, organization, or individual.
Right of Reply
If a company or individual provides a relevant response after publication, Dave Finances may update the article to include that response when it materially contributes to the story.
Adding a response does not necessarily indicate that the original reporting was incorrect.
Article Removal
Dave Finances generally prefers correcting or updating published material rather than deleting it.
Articles may be removed in exceptional circumstances, including serious legal, privacy, security, or factual issues that cannot reasonably be resolved through correction or updating.
Removal requests are considered individually and are not guaranteed.
Reporting an Error
Readers are encouraged to contact Dave Finances if they believe an article contains a factual error.
When submitting a correction request, please include:
- The URL of the article
- The specific statement you believe is incorrect
