Kraken, Wise and Mercado Pago disclosed separate payment and funding disruptions on November 5, including rejected Brazilian-real withdrawals, card-payment difficulties and delays to merchant notifications. Kraken also reported deposit and withdrawal delays across nine blockchain networks. A separate Adyen payout notice covering six currencies appeared in a third-party archive but could not be independently checked against the processor’s own status page.
Kraken reports rejected PIX withdrawals and network delays
Kraken opened two distinct funding incidents on November 5. At 10:19 UTC, it reported gateway problems affecting deposits and withdrawals on nine networks: Ink, Optimism, Unichain, Shape, Gensyn, Fraxtal, Katana, X Layer and Base. The exchange said other funding methods were operating normally. The incident remained at “identified” status in the latest record checked on November 6, with no resolution posted.
At 16:03 UTC, a seperate Kraken notice said Brazilian-real (BRL) withdrawals through PIX were being rejected. The exchange said it was working with its funding provider to restore the service. No resolution had been posted in the latest update checked.
The new notice arrived less than four hours after Kraken marked an earlier Brazilian-real PIX funding incident resolved at 12:16 UTC on November 5. That ticket had opened on November 3 and initially covered both deposits and withdrawals. Its last detailed update, posted on November 4, said deposits were operating normally but withdrawals remained affected and some transfers could take longer.
The old ticket was marked resolved, and then a fresh rejection problem appeared only a few hours later. The records do not say whether the new rejections were connected to the earlier problem or involved a new failure.
PIX is Brazil’s instant-payment scheme, overseen by Banco Central do Brasil. The central bank says it moves money between accounts in seconds, at any time or day. That makes a rejected PIX withdrawal a direct restriction on one route customers use to receive BRL from Kraken, rather than a routine delay in posting a transfer. The Banco Central do Brasil’s explanation of its role in the PIX system describes its responsibility for the scheme and its settlement infrastructure.
The incidents follow earlier Kraken funding-gateway problems across Cardano, Polkadot, Sui and other networks, documented in DaveFinances’ September investigation of Kraken’s multiple network funding disruptions.
Wise card payments and Mercado Pago notifications affected
Wise identified a technical issue affecting some cardholders at 15:56 GMT on November 5. It said certain customers could experience difficulties making payments with their Wise cards. The incident was marked resolved at 18:25 GMT, lasting two hours and 29 minutes.
Wise also listed Payments, Debit Card and API as affected components. That is a fairly narrow notice, but the status page also listed the API among affected components. The company did not say how many cardholders were affected or identify the technical cause.
Mercado Pago reported two delays affecting payment notifications. Its IPN service experienced increased response times from 17:42 to 18:58 GMT-3, equivalent to 20:42 to 21:58 UTC. A webhook notification issue ran over the same start time and was marked resolved at 18:46 GMT-3, or 21:46 UTC. Both incidents were marked resolved.
The company described slower notifications, not a failure of the underlying payment service. For merchants, it can be confusing: the payment is done, but the message saying so has not arrived yet. Delayed notifications can hold up order updates, automated fulfillment or merchant reconcilation, even where a payment has already been accepted.
A delayed notification is not a failed payment, though it can still leave a merchant waiting to act. The distinction between missing records and failed transfers is relevant to recent brokerage incidents too. CMC Markets disclosed that payments were missing from its platform’s History tab while saying its Account Summary should remain unaffected, as covered in DaveFinances’ report on CMC Markets’ payment-history display problem.
OANDA Japan, meanwhile, delayed withdrawals after a banking partner’s bulk-transfer system failed. The incident, covered in DaveFinances’ report on OANDA’s withdrawal delays, provides another example of disruption at the payment-provider layer. The causes differ, but both cases show why the affected payment step needs to be identified before calling an incident a full outage.
Adyen payout notice remains unverified
Adyen appeared in a third-party outage archive with a notice attributed to the processor, describing delays for a subset of payouts in DKK, SEK, CAD, USD, HUF and PLN following an internal technical issue.
The archive said some regular DKK payouts were expected on November 6, while certain CAD payouts were due by 01:00 CET that day. Other affected currencies had different expected credit times, depending on whether the transfers were regular or urgent.
Adyen’s public status page was unavailable when checked, and the original incident could not be retrieved directly. The notice therefore remains unconfirmed and is not treated as a verified disruption in this roundup.
Across the confirmed notices, the operational impact differed: Kraken customers faced rejected withdrawals through one local payment route, some Wise cardholders had difficulty paying, and Mercado Pago merchants recieved delayed payment events. These incidents do not establish a shared cause or an industry-wide outage. They show why status reports need to be read by the function affected, rather than by the platform name alone.
